PURPOSE:To machine an elliptical hole by drilling a central circular hole located in the center of on ellipse, with use of a circular hole drill and then drilling holes at both positions displaced symmetrically with respect to the center of the ellipse. CONSTITUTION:A workpiece, e.g., three stacked plates covered by copper, is subjected to elliptical hole machining with use of a drill having a diameter of 4.0mm., the number of revolutions of 16,000rpm, and a drill feed speed of 400mm./min. First, a circular hole is made in a center 1 of an ellipse. Then, the drill is moved by 0.53mm. in the direction of -X to make a hole 2. Further, the drill is moved by 1.06mm. in the direction of +X and thereby a hole 3 is made for effecting ellipse processing. The number of drilling and drill conditions depend on a elliptical hole specification. |
