The invention relates to a delivery mechanism for product in block form, and is preferably used to produce a shingle of book blocks in book production machines, especially at high cycle speeds. The object of the invention is, by avoiding abrupt forces acting on the book block by contrast with conventional delivery mechanisms, to reduce the wear occurring at high working speeds and the noise caused thereby. In order to form shingles at high cycle speeds, the object is to achieve a superimposition of movement which is necessary in both vertical and horizontal directions for the block pusher with a low impact speed on the book block and a drive mechanism which produces little wear. This object is achieved, according to the invention, in that the block pusher is fixed to a coupled drive to be capable of rotary movement and is connected to a cam gear, preferably consisting of a cam disc, a cam roller and a plurality of rocking levers which, via connecting rods, effect a vertical displacement of the block pusher.
