PURPOSE:To prevent any decrease in the performance of a sealed lead storage battery by increasing the thickness of either the grid of a plate adjacent to the inner surface of the wall of the container or that of a plate adjacement to said plate. CONSTITUTION:Either the grid of a plate located adjacent to the inner surface of the wall of a container which has a possibility of expanding or that of a plate adjacent to the above plate ia made thicker than the grids of the other plates of the same plate group. As a result, the deformation of the plate group is suppressed even when the container expands, thereby suppressing the change in voltage applied to the plate group during its insertion and preventing and deterioration of the performance of the battery. |
