The invention relates to a heat exchanger on a gravity basis for use in chimney/flue drafts. It is the object of the present invention to convert available unused thermal energy into thermal radiation energy as far as possible without loss. The convector is chiefly conceived for retrofitting in existing chimney/flue drafts, and is intended to exploit the hot waste gases which escape there unused.
