The invention relates to a method for emptying liquid containers, especially beer bottles, which are sealed with sealing caps, especially crown corks. The liquid is to be removed directly from the containers, i.e. not poured into another vessel. To this end, it is proposed according to the invention to make an insertion hole in the sealing cap, into which hole an immersion tube is introduced in such a way that a gap is left between the insertion hole and the immersion tube and that a gaseous pressure medium, especially compressed air, is pressed through the gap, so that the liquid can be pressed out of the container through the immersion tube.
