PURPOSE:To make constitution simple and production easy by making common use of the 2nd magnetic yoke connecting magnetically a magnetoresistance effect thin film and a magnetic base body as a bias conductor. CONSTITUTION:A magnetoresistance effect thin film, i.e., MR thin film 4 consisting of, for example, an Ni-Fe alloy or Ni-Co alloy, etc. is deposited and formed for each of magnetic heads. The 1st and 2nd magnetic yokes 6 and 7 are magnetically connected to both ends of the MR thin film 4 via an insulating layer 5 covering the respective surfaces of a magnetic base body 1, lead conductive layers 11, 12 and the film 4 on the film 4. The 1st magnetic yoke 6 is provided separately for each of the magnetic heads and the conductive 2nd magnetic yoke 7 is made common and the outside end thereof is brought into direct contact with the magnetic base body 1 through a window 5a punched to the layer 5 and applies a required bias magnetic field to each film 4 when electric current 1B for generating the bias magnetic field is passed therein. Since the 2nd magnetic yoke connecting magnetically the film 4 and the body 1 is commonly used as a bias conductor, the constitution is made simple and the production is made easy.
