PURPOSE:To attain ease of mounting state of a line processing package and line control procedure recognition by providing a transmission control procedure identification circuit to a line processing package of a line controller and reading the content of the said identification circuit of the package corresponding to the designated circuit with the line control section. CONSTITUTION:Line processing package 4-1-4-m correspond to lines L1-Lm, and transmission control procedure identification circuits 5-1-5-m storing the transmission control procedure of each line as codes C1-Cm are provided. When a CPU1 designates line L1, the CPU1 informs a transmission control procedure code. This code is set to a register section R1 of a line control register 6 and a line identification program P0 is executed. Through the execution, the content C1 of the transmission control procedure identification circuit 5-1 of the line processing package 4-1 corresponding to the line L1 is read, and the content C1 and the code of the register section R1 are collated. When the collation is coincident, the collation is dissident, and no mounting of the package disabling the reading is detected, then the corresponding processing is conducted and informed to the CPU1.
