A mudguard for the steered front wheels of a tractor which can be used for agricultural purposes is described, said mudguard consisting of a catch shell which at least partially surrounds the wheel and a support strut which bears the catch shell. In accordance with the requirements in various types of use, the mudguard can be swivelled within a region bounded by a front and a rear position, the setting of intermediate positions also being possible. In each of these positions, the support plane is lockable, by means of a locking element under a high spring force, in relation to a part which can be swivelled with the wheel. In order to make the unlocking require as little force as possible, the locking element is provided with a helical run-up face which, when rotated, brings about a longitudinal displacement of the locking element with the effect of unlocking it. <IMAGE>
