The application relates to a sun visor for vehicles, in particular for motor vehicles, which is arranged so as to be swivellable about an axle and longitudinally displaceable on the said axle, the axle being mounted in a tubular, cylindrical hollow body which is connected permanently to the sun visor body by encapsulation with plastic foam and the two ends of the hollow body being sealed by plugs, one of which has a central guide opening for the axle to pass through. In order to permit a smooth displacement movement and a simple locking in different angular positions using simple means, there is provision according to the invention for the hollow body to have in its wall at least two inwardly open locking grooves which run in its longitudinal direction, and for the free end of the axle to be connected to a cylindrical sliding element which has radial channels for receiving spring-loaded balls which interact with the locking grooves.
