The heating plant has a water heating plant which has a feed and a return, with a chimney and a device for the supply of waste heat from the chimney to the water heating plant. The water heating plant has, in the return, a return heat exchanger which is equipped for air/water heat exchange and is constructed as e.g. a plate heat exchanger. A chimney heat exchanger is situated in the chimney and has air flowing through it as a heat carrier forwarded by a fan and supplied to the return heat exchanger. The waste heat from the chimney can be made use of in the water heating plant in this manner. <IMAGE>
