PURPOSE:To improve colorability, the hue of a color image, fastness to light, etc. by using a specific color image forming coupler of a 5 member-5 membered condensation nitrogenous heterocyclic type as a magenta color image forming coupler. CONSTITUTION:The color image forming coupler of the 5 member-5 membered condensation nitrogenous heterocyclic type which is expressed by the formula I (X is the coupling removed group expressed by the formula II; R<1> is H, optional substd. group; Za, Zb, Zc are methine, methylene, =N-, -NH-, etc.; R<2> is alkyl, aryl, etc. substd. with at least one fluorine atom; R<3> is H, alkyl, aryl, etc.) and of which the coupling active position is substituted of nitrogen atom of carbonic amide having at least one fluorine atom is prepd. Such coupler is incorporated as a magenta coupler into a silver halide photosensitive material by which the intended silver halide photosensitive material is obtd. The embodiment of the coupler exemplified by the formula I is exemplified by the formula III, the formula IV, etc.
