An electrical snap switch having a snap switching element which is supported such that it can pivot, is subject to the influence of a switching spring arrangement and is provided with contact means, which switch assigns the contact means to at least one stationary contact in at least one of its end positions, and having a push-button slide which is subject to the influence of a restoring spring and acts on the switching spring arrangement such that it can be displaced approximately at right angles to the longitudinal direction of the snap switching element, the push-button slide and the snap switching element having wedge-shaped switching profiles which interact with one another, and at least one wedge-shaped switching profile being arranged flexibly against the spring force of the switching spring arrangement. This electrical snap switch, which is based on the subject-matter according to Patent 3,336,877, forms the basis of the technical problem of implementing such a design of the same that the electrical snap switch is assembled from as few individual parts as possible, ensuring a simple construction, and that the switching mechanism ensures particularly good and effective self-cleaning of the contacts. This is achieved in that a wedge-shaped switching profile, which is not displaceable in the longitudinal direction, is integrally formed on the push-button slide, and in that the snap switching element, which is formed at one of its free ends as a wedge-shaped switching profile, is arranged on a shaft such that it can be displaced in the longitudinal direction against a spring force.
