PURPOSE:To enhance detection accuracy, by constantly keeping the flow speed of a liquid containing particles to be inspected. CONSTITUTION:A detecting part 11 having a light emitting laser LA and a light receiving photodiode PD grasps scattered light due to particles and sends the same to a discriminator circuit 13 as a particle pulse signal through an amplifier 12. The discriminator circuit 13 applies AD conversion to the peak and width of a signal pulse and discriminates the product of both of them. Discriminated pulses are respectively counted by a count circuit 14 and the number of particles are displayed at every particle size by a display circuit 15. A specimen containing particles to be inspected is sucked from a container 1 by a suction pipet 16 and sent to a detection tube 6 along with the sheath solution S from a sheath solution tank 7. Air bubbles are injected into the fine tube 6a led out from the detection tube 6 by opening and closing a solenoid valve 5 and the moving speed of a specimen solution is detected on the basis of the moving speed of air bubbles by a means 30. Further, a pressure regulator is controlled to cotrol the feed pressure of the sheath solution S and the moving speed is kept constant. |
