PURPOSE:To prevent erroneous unit record assembling from being generated when missing of record is generated during data transmission by discriminating whether or not a prescribed number of codes are satisfied at each tab of a received record. CONSTITUTION:While four characters of ''Kabu'', ''Shiki'', ''Kai'' and ''Sha'' are stored already in a test memory 1, the flow is started and whether the transmission of tab position information is finished is discriminated at first and when the transmission is not finished, the time required for the transmission of each byte is set tentatively as 10ms and the data is transmitted in the order of the high-order byte of the text data and the low-order byte. A reception buffer 10 is clear with the command of a CPU14 and a reception timer 14 is set to 15ms by the reception. In receiving a test code 74 in 10ms, since the reception buffer 10 is occupied exclusively and no occupancy is permitted, a text code ''33'' stored in the reception buffer 10 and a text code ''74'' received this time are combined as a text data ''3374'', which is stored in a text memory 11.
