Catalytic titanium-component process involving the preparation of the composition of a) a complex of a titanium halide compound of tetravalent titanium and an ester of a carboxylic acid and b) an at least virtually anhydrous metal halide. The resultant composition of a) and b) is treated, as a suspension in an inert organic dispersant, with an organic aluminium compound c), soluble in the dispersant and the solid substance obtained is separated. The titanium component lends an excellent stereo-specificity to the polymerization catalyst, with a very high activity, and polymers, for instance polypropylene, with a very low halogen content and a very low titanium content can be obtained. |
