PURPOSE:To prevent the capacity reduction of a storage battery by providing oxygen guide sections having fine holes with a fine hole diameter larger than the gap size of a separator proper so as to penetrate the separator from its one side to opposite other side. CONSTITUTION:Multiple oxygen guide sections 2 having fine holes with a size larger than the gap of a separator proper 1 are prrovided on the separator proper 1 made of a nonwoven fabric such as glass fibers so as to penetrate the separator proper 1. These oxygen guide sections 2, 2... are arranged so as to cross each other, thus facilitating oxygen to be guided on both sides of the separator through these oxygen guide section 2, 2.... Such a separator is preferably used so that the oxygen guide sections 2 are vertically laminated. Accordingly, even if a relatively large quantity of oxygen is generated during uniform chargng, recovery charging, etc., this oxygen is temporarily shifted to the space in a battery jar through the oxygen guide section 2 having fine holes with a large diameter and never stays in the separator. |
