PURPOSE:To execute conversion to plural candidate series which becomes less combination numbers and to lessen the burden of language processing of succeeding word collation, etc. by using connecting relation information between recognition units and matching information of pattern recognition. CONSTITUTION:The pattern which is cut into one character enters a recognition part 20. After features are extracted, matching and decision with a standard pattern dictionary 25 are executed, here. As the results of recognition, plural candidate character series 21 is obtained, and it enters a connection collation part 30. While the plural candidate character series is analyzed and a connection information dictionary 35 is referred, connection possibility with the before and the after of respective candidate character is checked here. As a result, a distance correction decision part 40 corrects the distance of respective candidate character and sets the decision threshold. Then, decision is executed by using the decision threshold after sorting based on the correction distance. A plural candidate character series 41 obtained by the processing enters a word collation and mode element analying part 50, word collation and mode element analyzing are executed by using a word dictionary 55, and a character series 51 can be obtained. |
