<p>A heatable squeeze-roll press for plasticating plastic material is fed with, in particular, film-like or pulverulent material in such a manner that the material is comminuted, if required into the form of flakes from and scattered directly onto the squeeze-roll (18), at least approximately continuously over the entire axial length of the squeeze-roll (18) as a moderately and coherently distributed layer of material which is fusible on the squeeze-roll (18). A suitable arrangement for this comprises an at least approximately continuously operating metering device (32) which is suitable for discharging a thin stream of flaky and/or pulverulent material via an elongated outlet (35) which is parallel to the axis of the squeeze-roll (18) and corresponds approximately to the axial length thereof, this outlet (35) being allocated to a filling shaft (22) for feeding the squeeze-roll press (10) in such a way that the material leaving the outlet can fall under gravity directly onto the squeeze-roll (18). <IMAGE></p> |
