PURPOSE:The titled nondiscoloring, flame-retarding composition excellent in heat resistance and low in degradation of physical properties, propared by adding an epoxy compound as a stabilizer to a styrene resin containing a specified flame retardant mixture, an organotin compound and an organophosphorus compound. CONSTITUTION:The titled composition is prepared by adding an epoxy compound (e.g., phenyl glycidyl ether) to a styrene resin containing a flame retardant comporising hexabromocyclododecane or a mixture of this compound and a halogenated aromatic aryl ether (e.g, tribromophenyl aryl ether), an organotin compound (e.g., di-n-octyltin maleate polymer), and an organophosphorus compound (e.g., isopropylidenediphenol decyl phosphate). By injection-molding or extruding this composition, it is possible to obtain a resin molding of the styrene resin composition having excellent flame retardancy and heat resistance and being readily colored and low in degradation of physical properties. |
