PURPOSE:To provide a display tube at a reduced production cost, by forming a uniform thin intermediate film by applying a compsn. for an intermediate layer contg. a specified polymer to the surface of a phosphor layer by a screen process printing. CONSTITUTION:A compsn. for an intermediate layer contg. a polymer of the formula (wherein R1, R2 are each H, CH3; R2 is a 1-4C alkyl; X is OH, -CONH2, -COOH, etc.) is applied to the surface of a phosphor layer formed on a glass panel by a screen process printing to thereby form an intermediate film.
