PURPOSE:To attain high speed of access by energyzing a solenoid at a fixed time just after power supply interruption so as to release the carriage from the lock state thereby decreasing the spring constant of the spring energyzing the carriage to the lock position direction. CONSTITUTION:When a power is cut off during application of power, since a disc drive motor continues coasting, a counter electromotive force is generated in a coil 20, currents i1-i6 flow, the solenoid 12 energizes an L-form lever 8 counterclockwise so as to hold the lock release state and the bottom face of the lock pin 9 and the lever 8 is kept noncontactive state for a while. On the other hand, no current flows to the voice coil motor VCM by the cut-off of power, the carriage 2 is moved by a tensile spring 11b so that the head position comes to the center direction of the disc, since the pin 9 and the lever 8 are kept contactless, the tensile force of the spring 11b is a degree overcoming the friction force of rollers 4a, 4b. Then the spring constant of the spring 11b is decreased so as to reduce the force of the VCM thereby increasing the speed of access. |
