PURPOSE:To keep the ideal state in a running system with small friction coefficient by coating a tape slide face of a prescribed member with the thin layer made of a noble metal element such as Au, PT or Rh or their alloy in each member constituting a tape running system. CONSTITUTION:A substance is coated to the surface of a base 41 by the physical vapor-deposition method as a means forming the thin layer 42. As to a rotary drum, since the drum is constituted by coating a noble metal element on the base made of Al or plastic to constitute the drum; a problem produced with respect to the friction between the drum outer circumference face and the tape face is solved. The value of the friction coefficient is as small as 0.2-0.3. Since the thin layer is formed by using the alloys, a product rich in corrosion proof and prevented from tape sticking phenomenon in a humid environment is obtained.
