PURPOSE:To convert easily the digital signals of a superhigh frequency area from a serial array into a digital array, by making use of the characteristics of an optical modulator of a bipolar optical switch. CONSTITUTION:Plural optical modulators are provided on an electro-optical substrate 1. The electrodes 4 of these optical modulators are connected in series via a delay cable 5 so as to obtain the coincidence between the time pitches of pulses of the series digital signals and space array pitches of electrodes respectively. Then the series digital signals are applied between a common terminal 7a of the input terminal and an input terminal 7b. At the same time, the optical pulse is supplied to the optical modulator only in a period while the series digital signals pass through the electrodes 4. Thus parallel digital signals are obtained from an output terminal 9. In such a way, the digital signal of a superhigh frequency area can be easily converted into a parallel array from a serial array. |
