PURPOSE:To make an idling speed controllable with an inexpensive device, by setting up the opening of an idling speed control valve being installed so as to bypass a throttle valve, on the basis of output of a steering sensor which detects a steering angle or a steering angle speed of a steering shaft. CONSTITUTION:In time of car driving, each output signal out of a steering sensor 32, an engine speed sensor 41 and a car speed sensor 51 is taken in a control circuit 60 which therefore performs each judgment of whether or not an engine speed is below N-rpm, a steering angle speed is below omega deg./sec and a steering angle is above theta deg. in regular sequence. And, when each judgment aforesaid is entirely a 'yes' with the about-face of a car and its garaging or the like, the opening A of an idling speed control valve 20 is set down to the opening (A+K) added with the specified value K, and an air stream quantity passing through a bypass passage 14 bypassing a throttle valve 42 is increased to some extent. In addition, a fuel feed quantity is also increased as much as a portion for increment of the air stream quantity, thus the engine speed is increased.
