PURPOSE:To control the concn. of waste product to an optimum value and to perform economic operation by designing to set a large range of concn. control of a gas separation cascade and to increase the flexibility of production. CONSTITUTION:Three pipes of an optional separating element 9 in a gas separating cascade 1 or one pipe among two header pipings 11 of two separating elements is (are) connected with a bypath pipe 9 to a tail piping 9, and a bypath control valve 10 is provided to the midway of the bypath piping 9. Operation of the apparatus is performed so as to control the concn. of the light component gas in the product gas and the concn. of the light component gas in the waste gas by controlling usually a feed control valve 5, product control valve 6, and a tail control valve 7. When the optimum concn. of the light component gas is beyond a range controllable by the control of above described three control valves, the bypath valve 10 is opened, and the flow rate of the gas flowing through the bypath pipe 9 is controlled and the concn. of the light component gas in the waste gas is changed continuously.
