PURPOSE:To eliminate the needs to alter the sizes of plate cylinder each time the printing lengths are changed by a method in which two plates are attached to one plate cylinder and these are pressed by two pressure cylinders, and such a printer is controlled by a specific circumferential direction of the plate cylinder. CONSTITUTION:Two plates 18 are provided on symmetric positions of a plate cylinder 19, and two pressure cylinders 20a and 20b to press them at the symmetric positions are provided. The length of a sheet from the contact point of one pressure cylinder 20a for the plate 18 to the contact point of the other pressure cylinder 20b is set up to an odd-number more than 3 times the length L of print. In such a printer, a motor 25 for the plate cylinder is controlled, as shown in Fig., by an arithmetic unit 33, etc., that is, from starting point T11 of printing to the ending point T12, the circumferential speed of the plate cylinder 19 is matched with the moving speed of the sheet 10. During the period when the sheet 10 runs over the length L of printing from the ending time T12 of printing to the next starting point T21, the plate cylinder 19 is moved only by the circumferential length between the plates 18, and at the next starting point T21, the speed is made to coincide with the moving speed of the sheet 10. |
