<p>PURPOSE:To obtain effective warehouse operation by performing necessary change in a frontage pattern or necessary modifications in storing/delivery plan of the warehouse, based on the results of prediction as to the amount of storage in the predetermined period in the future. CONSTITUTION:Based on a long-range operation plan, standard efficiency, the rate of operation of equipment, information on the initial quantity of goods in stock, a tube manufacturing schedule, and fine array schedule, a work progress computer 50 predicts by simulation the change in the quantity of goods in stock in the predetermined period in the future, and thus predicted results are input into an automatic warehouse management computer 51. The automatic warehouse management computer 51 selects a frontage pattern, which gives the greatest storage capacity, from several kinds of frontage patterns that have been set in advance. When the frontage pattern should be changed, necessary modifications are carried out. The predicted amount of goods in stock still exceeds the storage capacity even with these modifications, the plan on storing/delivering to and from the warehouse is modified. With this constitution, warehouse operation can be carried out efficiently and smoothly.</p> |
