PURPOSE:To obtain an etching soln. for detecting a martensite phase in a simple and sure manner by modifying conventional Frank with commercially available chemicals. CONSTITUTION:To 100cc water are added 2-4g inorg. sodium sulfite and 0.3- 2g methylaminophenol, and they are stirred until the compounds are thoroughly dissolved to prepare a soln. A. To 100cc ethanol is added 2.5-3.5g picric acid, and they are stirred to prepare a soln. B. An etching soln. is obtd. by mixing the solns. A, B in 10:(1-1.5) ratio.
