PURPOSE:To obtain aq. slurry having excellent stability in the lapse of time and high concn. by adding the salt of copolymer consisting of 60-75mol% unsaturated carboxylic acid and 25-40mol% itaconic acid. CONSTITUTION:0.3-2pts.wt. alkali metal salt or ammonium salt of unsaturated carboxylic acid copolymer which has 1,000-50,000 average molecular weight and is composed of 60-75mol% acrylic acid or methacrylic acid and 25-40mol% itaconic acid is added to 100pts.wt. calcium carbonate and the mixture is slurried with water.
