PURPOSE:To make it possible to employ a spring having a low resilient force in an overflow control device in a fuel injection device, and as well to realize the metering having no delay in response, with a high degree of accuracy, by providing a solenoid valve which is closed upon energization but opened by fuel discharge pressure upon deenergization. CONSTITUTION:A plunger 5 is reciprocated by means of a roller tappet 11 in association with rotation of a cam 6 which is rotated associatingly with an engine 1 so that fuel introduced through a suction port 4a is pressurized to be distributed to fuel injection nozzles 8 through a fuel distributing device 9. Upon fuel injection an overflow solenoid valve 7 forcingly closes the valve 7. Upon rest of fuel injection the solenoid valve 7 is deenergized so that an incorporated valve section is opened by means of fuel pressure introduced through a suction port 4a, overcoming a spring, and therefore, fuel overflows from a discharge port 7a to the suction passage 4a. With this arrangement the pressure in a fuel passage from the suction port 7a to the nozzles 8 is abruptly reduced to terminate fuel injection from the nozzles 8. |
