A guide mechanism particularly but not exclusively for adjustable vehicle seats, comprising a pair of relatively slidable rails 10, 11, means are provided between the rails which are resiliently loaded and comprise a rotary member 38 pressed resiliently against one of the rails to prevent noise generating movements between the rails. Preferably the rails are hollow-section and embrace one another, the sound-deadening means being enclosed in the space between the rails. In a preferred embodiment of the invention the rotary body is a roller pressed against one of the rails by a spring tongue 35 under a pre-tension produced by a compressible spring element 25 of rubber or plastics disposed between the rotary body and the other of the two rails. <IMAGE> |
