PURPOSE:To reduce the processing time for counting paper money by turning on totalization designating means when discrimination is not required and the return is demanded and automatically transferring paper money returned to a return port by a transfer mechanism from the return port to a deposit port. CONSTITUTION:Paper money thrown into a deposit port is sequentially discriminated by a discrimination portion. When the return is demanded or discrimination is not required, a recount key is pushed down to be switched on, so that a motor in a transfer mechanism is driven to turn a base plate cam 50 of a return port counter-clockwise, thereby to press a roller 54 of a base plate segment gear 51 of the return port. Thus, the base plate segment gear 51 of the return port is turned clockwise against elastic force of a spring 53, and the base plate gear 52 of the return port is turned counter-clockwise to slide down paper money laid over the base plate 55 of the return port, so that the paper money is caused to fall toward a deposit port where paper money is set. Thus, paper money to be rediscriminated is automatically set at the deposit port. |
