PURPOSE:To complete simultaneously the transfer of a coated film to the surface of a sand mold and curing of the sand mold by forming a conductive film layer and a coated film layer on the surface of a pattern, packing molding sand to the periphery thereof, covering the molding sand with a wire net and conducting electricity to a metallic screen and conducting electricity to the metallic screen and the film layer. CONSTITUTION:A conductive film layer 2 consisting of a metal such as solder, copper, etc. is formed on the surface of a pattern such as a wooden pattern 1 or the like to form a coated film layer 3. A molding sand mixture added with an inorg. or org. binder is packed to the periphery of the pattern 1 and the entire outside surface thereof is covered with a wire net 5. The net 5 and the layer 2 as electrodes are electrically heated so that the transfer of the layer 3 to the surface of a sand mold 4 and curing of the mold 4 are accomplished simultaneously. The transfer of the mold coating and the curing of the mold 4 are completed with short time of heating by the above-mentioned method, by which the casting mold having high dimensional accuracy and surface stability is obtd. |
