The use of a section of a plastic profile made from polyethylene, in particular of a flat profile produced by ram extrusion, as a sliding component. The wall thickness of the plastic profile is, apart from any moulded ribs, less than 3 mm, and the molecular weight is greater than 1 million. The direction of the ram extrusion of the plastic profile preferably corresponds to the direction of the sliding load which the sliding component has to absorb. |
