NEW MATERIAL:A compound expressed by formula I [R1 and R2 are H, hydrocarbon group which may have a substituent group (OH, lower alkoxyl or lower alkoxycarbonyl) or phenyl substituted by OH or lower alkoxyl or together with the adjacent N atom form a 2-6C ring which may contain further O atom]. EXAMPLE:N,N-Dimethyltricyclodecan[5.2.1.0<2>,<6>]decane-2-carboxylic acid amide. USE:A cold feeling agent having physiological cooling action and very weak aroma, and useful preferably cold feeling compositions prepared by mixing in cosmetics, cleaning agents, oral cleaning agents, medicines, foods, etc. PREPARATION:A tricyclic carboxylic acid expressed by formula III is converted into an acid chloride expressed by formula IV, which is then reacted with a primary or secondary amine in the presence of a nonnucleophilic base in a solvent at -20-+50 deg.C, preferably 0-15 deg.C to the aimed compound expressed by formula I . |
