PURPOSE:A stabilized halogen-containing resin composition having improved heat stability, initial coloration, and weatherability, made by the combined incorporation of two types of specified organic phosphites therein. CONSTITUTION:The organic phosphites of formulas I and II [where R1-R8 each are a (cyclo)alkyl, an aryl, -(CmH2mO)x-Z1 or -Z2-OCmH2m+1 (in which Z1 is H, an alkyl or an aryl; Z2 is an aryl; x is 1-10; m is 1-8)] are used. Thus, 100pts.wt. halogen-containing resin, such as polyvinyl chloride, are incorporated with about 0.5-5pts.wt. mixture of a compound of formula I and a compound of formula IIin a weight ratio of about 10:3-3:10.
