Disclosed is a pilot valve for a hydraulic device, such as an accumulator loading valve, which can be operated in a bistable manner as a function of the accumulator pressure and is almost insensitive to pressure peaks occurring briefly in the accumulator line. Here, the pilot valve comprises two interacting pistons which are constantly in contact. A greater resistance is offered to the movement of the pistons in the one direction than to their movement in the other direction. This resistance of different magnitude is brought about by a space which is filled with pressure medium, is in contact with an annular space in the housing via a restricting connection, is defined by the two pistons and a section of the valve housing and increases or reduces its volume as a function of the direction of movement of the pistons. Furthermore, the movements of the pistons are thereby greatly dampened so that they scarcely react to the occurrence of pressure peaks.
