PURPOSE:To facilitate the formation of a polyurethane elastomer having excellent properties, by reacting a specified high-MW polyol with a chain extender and a polyisocyanate compound. CONSTITUTION:A polyurethane elastomer is produced by using a high-MW polyol, a chain extender and a polyisocyanate compound as essential materials. The above-mentioned high-MW polyol comprises at least partially the following polyether-diol of a MW of about 1,200-8,000, obtained by effecting an addition reaction among polyoxytetramethylene glycol, ethylene oxide and propylene oxide and/or butylene oxide sequentially or after mixing. This polyether-diode has an oxytetramethylene group content of about 5-80wt% and an oxyethylene group/(oxypropylene group content and/or oxybutylene content) weight ratio of about 40/60-90/10.
