Gripping tool with a gripping jaw, which can be displaced along a guide rail and can be secured to the latter by tilting, as well as a fixed gripping jaw, a locking slide displaceable on the guide rail being provided for setting the gripping-jaw spacing before a workpiece is gripped, which locking slide can likewise be tilted on and secured to the guide rail by means of a locking screw and also has a retaining extension reaching under the displaceable gripping jaw.
