PURPOSE:To enable recording to be continuously conducted for a long period of time without using conventional thermal transfer recording papers and without need for frequent replacement and print images with high gradation property, by a method wherein thermal printing is conducted by using a thermal transfer ink roll and a laser. CONSTITUTION:The thermal printing is conducted by using the laser 3 on the opposite side of a master image forming base 2 making contact with the thermal transfer ink roll 1, whereby an ink on the roll 1 is transferred onto the base 2 to form a master image 4. The base 2 thus provided with the master image 4 is laminated on a transfer printing material 5 with the image side in contact with the material 5, and the laminate is passed between hot rolls 6, 7 heated to a temperature not lower than the melting point of the heat-fusible ink. The master image 4 is transferred onto the material 5 to form a printed image 8. On the other hand, the base 2 passed through the roll 6 is released from the material 5 at an acute angle. Accodingly, by the thermal printing through the use of the laser, images can be printed on the transfer printing material. |
