PURPOSE:To obtain a uniform high quality recording dot, by changing the diameter of an ion stream control orifice corresponding to the distance between the ion stream control orifice and a corona wire or by changing control voltage applied to a control electrode. CONSTITUTION:An ion flow amount is represented by ''ion stream density Xtake-in efficiency X ion stream control orifice area'' and the density of an ion stream becomes high as the distance between a corona wire 2 and an ion stream control orifice 4 becomes nearer or the potential difference between the corona wire 2 and a control electrode becomes larger. In order to make an ion stream amount at the indivisual ion stream control orifice 4, the area of the ion stream control orifice is changed corresponding to the density distribution of the ion stream. For example, the area SB of the ion stream control orifice at a point B is made double the area SA of the ion stream control orifice at a point B to make it possible to obtain an equal ion flow amount. Further, take-in efficiency may be changed corresponding to the density distribution of the ion stream. |
