PURPOSE:To enhance printing quality, by setting the width of a heating part for preheating to be larger than that of a heating part for printing. CONSTITUTION:The width (b) of the heating part 8 for preheating is set to be larger than the width (a) of the heating part 7 for printing. The temperature of an insulating substrate 6 and the temperature of a thermal recording paper or an ink ribbon are previously raised by passing an electric current to the heating part 8, and thereafter printing is conducted by passing an electric current to the heating part 7. In this case, since the width (b) of the heating part 8 is larger than the width (a) of the heating part 7, end parts of dots to be printed are also sufficiently preheated, so that end parts of printed dots are not blurred, and high printing quality can be obtained. |
