PURPOSE:To obtain an acid corrosion inhibitor producing its acid corrosion inhibiting effect even when it is added by a very small amount by using modified polyethyleneimine produced by reacting polyethyleneimine with a monoepoxy compound. CONSTITUTION:This acid corrosion inhibitor contains modified polyethyleneimine produced by reacting polyethyleneimine with a monoepoxy compound represented by formula I (where R1 is 8-20C alkyl), e.g., n-hexylethylene oxide and/or a monoepoxy compound represented by formula II (where R2 is 8-20C alkyl, phenyl or phenyl having optionally 1-8C alkyl substituent), e.g., phenylglycidyl ether. The amount of one or more kinds of said monoepoxy compounds used is 0.05-7 equiv., especially 0.1-0.5mol equiv. per 1 equiv. active hydrogen in polyethyleneimine. The reaction is carried out at room temp. -200 deg.C, especially 50- 100 deg.C in a solventless state of in a solvent such as water, methanol or toluene. The acid corrosion inhibitor is used by 0.001-0.5wt% of the total amount of a bath used. |
