<p>Process for the preparation of mixotrophic tissue cultures by cultivation in a tissue culture capable of photosynthesis or containing parts capable of photosynthesis, prepared from seeds, any plant part, protoplast or single cell on a sugar containing known culture medium under illumination. The process is characterized in that the cultivation is performed on a culture medium containing less than 1% of sugar, e.g. saccharose or glucose. The invention further relates to a new process for the selection and reproduction of plants resistant to photosynthesis-inhibiting herbicides. For the selection of herbicide-resistant plants the above culture medium is employed.</p> |
