PURPOSE:To obtain an amorphous soft magnetic alloy having high heat resistance and saturation magnetization by adding a specified amount in total of a rare earth element for forming an amorphous state and a metal for compensating positive magnetrostriction to Co or by further adding Fe of Mn. CONSTITUTION:To Co as a base are added 5-20atom% in total of elements selected from a group I consisting of Y and rare earth elements such as La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Pm, Sm, Eu, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm, Yb and Lu for forming a stable amorphous state without requiring a large amount and a group II consisting of metallic elements such as Cr, Ni, Nb, Mo, Ta and W for compensating positive magnetrostriction. Fe or Mn may be further added. At this time, the total amount of elements added is 5-26atom%. An amorphous soft magnetic alloy having superior heat resistance and high saturation magnetization is obtd. by using the resulting Co alloy as a starting material. |
