The invention relates to an electrical cable winch with emergency manual drive, which has a planetary differential gear mechanism (10) with two sun gears (11, 12) and planetary wheels (13) arranged between them. The one sun gear (11) is driven by an electric motor by way of a worm gear (20), whilst the other sun gear (12) is rotatable, with return locking, by means of a hand crank (5), designed as a safety crank and remaining constantly on the cable winch. The planet carrier (14) connected to the cable drum (1) represents the output element of the planetary gear (10). The result is that the hand crank (5) constantly remaining on the cable drum can be safely turned even if the motor is running or starts unexpectedly. <IMAGE>
