A battery grid pasting machine has an endless steel conveyor belt (80) for advancing grids beneath a paste hopper (132). The lower end of the hopper is closed by an orifice plate (170). The top run of the belt is supported by a vertically adjustable roller (82) directly beneath an orifice slot (194) in the orifice plate (170). A guide assembly is provided for advancing the grids in a downwardly inclined position towards the underside of the hopper (132). The hopper (132) and the belt conveyor assembly are supported from one side of the machine in cantilever fashion which enables the hopper (132) and the endless belt (80) to be removed and replaced with a minimum dismantling of components of the machine. <IMAGE> |
