PURPOSE:To attain a narrow antenna fitting area by forming a dielectric substrate as two layers to miniaturize an antenna. CONSTITUTION:Since a rectangular metallic thin plate 4 is inserted while a dielectric plate 1 is provided with a slit, the plate 4 has a structure where the size of a ground conductor plate and a rectangular metallic thin plate of a conventional microstrip antenna is made nearly similar and overlapped and the distance l between two apertures is the resonance length 0.5lambdag. The electric field at the two apertures is in the same direction as shown in arrow E and a radio wave is irradiated. Since the length l' of one side is nearly a half of the microstrip antenna in comparison with a conventional antenna, the occupied area for mounting the antenna is nearly halved. |
