PURPOSE:To attain versatility of a play table and to improve the function of a controller by providing a polarity information storage means for designating a detected polarity and a means for detecting the state of each signal line depending on the detected polarity designated by the storage means to each signal line connected to each play table. CONSTITUTION:The polarity information of signal lines A, B of play tables 1-1- 1-N is written in a memory 18 by a CPU23 of a play table controller, and a scanning counter 19 scans in this state at each play table. Two sets of information E'A, E'B from the play tables 1-1-1-N are selected by an input signal selection circuit 17 and inputted to a signal modification circuit 20. Polarity identification information PA, PB of the same table are fetched from the memory 18 to the circuit 20, the information is modified and fed to a signal register 21. The information EA, EB, PA, PB are rewritten in the register 21, fed to the control circuit 22, where the processing of leading/trailing/open line detection is conducted. Then the versatility of the play tables is attained and the function of the controller is improved.
