PURPOSE:To simplify the constitution of an image pickup element and an output processing circuit with a color video system where a color difference signal exists in terms of color alternate by modulating the 1st and 2nd color difference signals, adding them to a liminance signal as a chrominance signal so as to obtain a color video signal. CONSTITUTION:A solid-state image pickup element 31 is incorporated with a color filter of arrangement as shown in the figure, and an output of the element 31 is led to LPFs 32, 33 and a BPF34. Then an output of the LPF32 is synthesized with a chrominance signal at an adder 41 via a process amplifier 35. Furthermore, an output of the BPF34 is inputted to a subtractor 39 via a process circuit 36, an output of a BPF34 is detected 34 and fed to a process circuit 38 as a low frequency chrominance signal. The output of the circuit 38 becomes a line alternate color difference signal by the subtractor 39 and modulated 40, then added 41 with a luminance signal and outputted 42 as a color video signal.
